Our white teabags are made from two different types of material that you may choose from. Both are plastic free, biodegradable and home compostable.
Corn fibre - we have taken corn fibre made in the Scottish borders from non genetically modified materials, and whitened it using our unique oxygen wash method - where we push oxygen molecules through the fibreto give it a lovely natural white colour without using any bleach in the process. This is our most environmentally friendly material as it takes the paper mill out of the process (5th largest pollution source on the planet). Undortunately we cannot (yet) make a heat sealable corn fibre bag but we have a foldover flap corn fibre bag which is great for small businesses looking to use for mail order.
White paper - we understand that sometimes people want to try to stick to a material they know and recognise. So, we make these traditional tea filter bags in plastic free, biodegradable and home compostable paper. We make these in both drawstring and heat seal.
